Hi, I’m Scott Wallace, and I’m the voice keeping you company across Scotland right here on NOW Radio! Whether I am waking you up on NOW Breakfast (fuelled entirely by coffee and sugar!) or sound tracking your weekend on Tea Time Tunes, my mission is to bring you the absolute biggest hits from the 80s to NOW.
Music and entertainment have always been my ultimate passions. Alongside my studio broadcasting work, I spend a lot of my time out on the road as a live event DJ, performing at venues all over the North East of Scotland. For me, nothing beats the thrill of reading a room, playing great tracks, and keeping the dance floor packed. On-air, I love combining that musical energy with local Scottish chat, news, and community updates to keep you fully entertained and informed.

My Journey So Far

The Music Obsession: Fell in love with music at an early age. Music was always on in the house or car while being dragged around shopping or trips with my family, which quickly evolved into a career as a live event DJ at the age of 12.
The Live Circuit: I spent years performing on stages and at venues across the North East of Scotland, village halls, schools, hotels learning exactly how to connect with a live audience and how to control a dance floor of an event/ celebration. This developed over the years and ended up being resident in a number of venues across Aberdeen. Music was in my soul.
Radio Intro: I spent part of my 5th year at Mackie Academy running out the door at lunchtime to get down to the community centre, where I then hosted a one hour music driven show, while stuffing the contents of my lunch bag down my throat.
A spark inside me had been ignited for radio broadcasting and all things tech.
A year or so later, just as I was starting to learn to drive, my parent so a advertising card in the supermarket. This was facebook marketplace in the 90s was when you wrote on a small card and posted it on the wall in Somerfield. This was an advert looking for volunteers for Esk Fm, a community RSL based in Montrose.
Well I soon wedged my way in, getting involved with studio build, on air content, and policing the music policy. This was short lived as we only had a 28 day licence. The bug was growing.
In about 1996-7 I continued to make a nuisance of myself with my two local commercial radio station Tay FM and Northsound 1. Over time I must have worn then down, or as it used be, in the right place at the right time. Someone was ill and the a show needed covered. So a quick call and I was heading up to Kings Gate in Aberdeen to arrive to an open door, ushering me in to the studio, thrown the headphone and left to it, It was amazing. That buzz of being live on air across the North East on a brand like Northsound was an experiance.
Over time this grew to covering more shows at the weekend while getting involved with outside broadcasts. This kind of experience cant be taught in the classroom.
Life changes and over time this radio presenting soon dried up.
Radio Segue: By now I had family of my own. We were returning from a family holiday and as you do, get bored and play with the in seat entertainment. You’ve been through all the films, now you hit the audio. Flicking through a bunch of pre-recorded chart shows, I soon got bored. They were rubbish.
Wait a minute……..I can do a better job than that. It was then i decided I was going to get back in to presenting.
Over the following weeks I bugged our new local commercial radio station Original 106.
After some gentle persuading I managed to get a chance to demo for them, after being successful was the man of the weekend, firstly with the Friday night and then included Saturday.
This continued for some time before the next sweep of RAJAR results came out. I taken a show that was 0.5% of listener share to 5.5%, things were on the up. I did try my hand at five shows a week but on top of a full time job, this proved too much.
Radio Out: Then Covid 19 kicked off. This was the end of my presenting at Original 106.
Radio Donut:  I knew it wouldn’t be forever, but gave it time and for the right opportunity to present itself.
Eight months later I started to create NOW Radio.
Five years on, I have 15 presenters across the country, presenting a mixture of live and voice tracker shows (pre recorded).
During 2025 1.1 million hours of NOW Radio was listened to on the web, smart speaker and apps.
